Before we do that though, let's take a minute, check it out and make sure it's gonna work for you. So when it comes to these Volvos, they're capable vehicles, and people use them to tow some trailers around, and if that's what you plan on doing, you're gonna need a way to power up all the lights on your trailer. That way you're not only safe but legal as well, because it is required to have trailer lights, in working order when you are towing. So that's where a kit like this is gonna come into play. more

Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2020 Volvo XC60- Video
Connor: Hey, everyone, Connor here today at etrailer.com. We're going to be taking a look at Tekonsha's T-One Trailer Wiring Harness here for our 2020 Volvo XC60.Here's how we have our trailer wiring harness secured to the trailer here. As you can see, we're just using the safety chains here, along with the dust cover cap on our trailer connector to secure everything. This particular harness here is going to give us everything we need to remain legal for some of our smaller and medium duty trailers without electric trailer brakes. If we do have electric trailer brakes on our trailer, there are adapters that we can convert this to the necessary seven-way. But the four-way that this harness provides is going to give us all our basic lighting functions, such as the tail lights and the stop and turn signals.In regards to installation, this harness is going to be plug and play, which means we're not going to need to do any splicing into the vehicle's wiring and we can remain 100% factory. more

Any four-pole wiring is going to allow you to transfer lights to a trailer or anything else that you may be hauling that may need light signals, so that you're not only safe, but you're legal. It's going to give you your four-pole connection. So it's going to be your running lights, your brake lights and your blinkers.It's going to have a nice dust cap, so when you're not using it, you simply roll it up, put it in the back of the vehicle. The dust cap's going to help protect those connections from getting dirt and debris stuck inside. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2010 Volvo XC60, we're going to be taking a look at, and show you how to install the Tekonsha T1 vehicle wiring harness with 4-pole flat trailer connector. Part number 118739. This is what our wiring's going to look like when it's installed. It's going to live inside of the vehicle. It's going to give us both turn signals, our ground wire, our brake lights, and our running lights. It's also going to give us five amps per circuit for our stop and turn signals, and 7.5 amps for our running lights.Now when we're not using it, we can simply roll it up and store it right in the container in the back of our vehicle. more

T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2012 Volvo XC60- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2012 Volvo XC60, we'll be having a look at and installing the Tekonsha T1 vehicle wiring harness with four pole flat trailer connector, part number 118739. Here's what our wiring looks like installed. This four pole flat trailer harness gives us the basic lighting functions that are required by law, in order for us to safely and legally tow a trailer. Our white wire here provides our ground connection, which is necessary between our trailer and our XC60. The brown wire is our taillight and running light circuit. And on that wire, we have a total power output of 7.5 amps of power. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2016 Volvo XC60- Video
Today on our 2016 Volvo XC60 we're going to show you how to install the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with the 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector. Part number is 118523. What your wiring kit is going to look like when you pull it out of your package. Of course, this is our main goal, having a functional 4-pole wiring so we can plug that in. It's going to have a dust cover on it there. To get the proper signals to here, you can see our line runs into a plug that's going to be plugged into our converter box. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2013 Volvo xc60- Video
Today on our 2013 Volvo XC60, we're going to be installing the Tow Ready T1 Vehicle Wiring Harness, part number 118523. Now when you're ready to use your 4-flat wiring, you'll pull it out of the storage area, you can then go ahead and close the rear hatch down on the 4-flat wiring, making sure that we stay away from the center latch area as that can crimp or crush the wire and damage it. We'll go ahead and close our hatch down and now you're ready to plug into your trailer. When you're done using your 4-flat wiring, simply raise the rear hatch, put the cover back on the 4-flat, we'll go ahead and store the 4-flat wiring down near the spare tire to keep it safe from the elements. We'll begin by opening up the rear hatch of the vehicle. We'll first lift up our cover or panel right here and support it so that it stays up out of our way. We'll go ahead and lift this tray out of the way. more
